Also called Fu Li, waterside Luzhi Town is an ancient town of cultural significance in the south of Yangtze River. It is located 25 kilometers to the east of
Suzhou City. In Tang Dynasty, it was renamed as "Luzhi", because the streets in this town look like the Chinese character "用". Surrounded by Yangcheng Lake in the east, Dianshanhu Lake, Chenghu Lake in the south, and Jinji Lake and Dushu Lake in the west, Luzhi Town was praised as "a land with five lakes and three islands".
This ancient town is laid out with the streets and streams running in parallel. Different kinds of houses are constructed beside the stream, which is simply a solemn and brisk painting of a "water alley".
