The Donghekou Earthquake Relics Park came into existence as a result of earth stress explosion during the Wenchuan Earthquake. It is a geological site, containing relics with the most abundant forms and of the largest size, embracing the largest number of concentrated barrier lakes, and claiming most serious casualties.
The Donghekou Earthquake Relics Park takes a shape of 'Y', covering an area of 50 square kilometers including one town and 5 villages.
In the park, there are 36 various barrier lakes as Shibangou, Donghekou and Hongheko as a result of the landslides and debris flow by the mountain's movement.
