During the four-day fair, they are looking forward to tapping into China's robust outbound tourism market.
Tourism insiders from Taiwan are especially trying hard to promote their products. They believe the relaxing ties cross the Taiwan Strait will greatly drive up the volume of mainland tourists.
Liu Zhenghong, Head of Miaoli County, Taiwan, said, "Now it's the best time to enjoy hotsprings and strawberries in our county. We warmly welcome mainland tourists to Taiwan."
Taiwan's tourism industry is also assuring the safety of mainland tourists.
Kaohsiung Torrism Insider, said, "Kaohsiung welcomes all mainland tourists. And we will ensure all tourists' safety. Please take it easy."
As more and more people head for Taiwan, the island's tourism industry has also launched various kinds of products, with some even including healthcare in the tour packages.
Tong Ruilong, Vice Board Chairman of Taiwan Children's Hospital, said, "Mainland tourists can have health examinations on their first day of visit. Before they come back, we will deliver the report to their hotels."
This year's travel mart features overseas destinations from a record high 106 countries and regions. The event will open to the public over the weekend.
