Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center will open to the public on September 29. “During the National Day Holiday, to guarantee that the opening will be secure and orderly, the sailing center will adopt an advanced booking strategy, with CNY 10 for each admission ticket,” the relevant department of Qingdao municipal government declared. There will be some performing arts and a fireworks show.

Starting from August 8, 2009, the anniversary of the Olympic Sailing, Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center will hold a 10-day event every year called “Qingdao Sea Culture Festival”. Well-known domestic colleges and universities will be invited to compete in a boat race and other activities, such as swimming, diving and seafood cooking. It will become the national training center for aquatic sports and the home of Qingdao’s sailing team.
