There is a special express ferry steamer line between Xiamen and Gulangyu Island. It is the main transportation means for sightseeing travelers to pass Lujiang River and to arrive at the beautiful Gulangyu Island. The service time is from six o'clock in the morning to 11 o'clock in the evening. There is one steamer coming out every several minutes. The term of the traveling is about 8 to 10 minutes. When you are at Gulangyu Island and want to come back to Xiamen you have to buy a single ticket that costs you about 1 yuan. And if you want to sit on the second floor, you have to pay additional 0.5 yuan each time.
Besides, there are some short-distant ferry steamers to and from Jimei, Haicang, Zengying, Shima and Haideng etc.
The ferry steamer may stop running temporarily in case there is a foul weather.
