Yang Guang, Emperor yang of the Sui Dynasty (581-618), was a talented and bold tyrant. One of his outstanding contributions was the digging of the world-renowned Grand Canal. But his cruelty and dissoluteness provoked peasant uprisings. At last, he was hanged.
The tomb is a scenic spot with historical and archaeological values, attracting tourists and archaeological scholars from all over the world.
