
The Jiulong Ravine Provincial Scenic Zone is located in the north of Chongzhou city, 76km from
Chengdu. Here, there are extensive green mountains and hills and the ravine got its name from a legendary tale it is praised as the "Dragon Palace on Earth" where water strikes rocks, sending out sounds like that of a dragon, and strange stones take on the appearances of lying dragons, and flying dragons. Scenic sights include the "dragon king presenting treasure", "spring that dragon concubines taking baths" and "dragon prince picking laurel" and so on. Walking to the upper ravine, is the Nine Dragon Flying Water fall, which draws on melted mountain snow and drops down a hundred meters. On top of the Liuding Mountain and looking around, visitors view the azaleas blossoming every where on the mountain slopes, pine trees of various shapes, and all-year-round mountain snow in the distance. Here one could watch the miracles of the sea of cloud, sun-rise, full moon at night, the Buddha's Halo, border of Yin and Yang to experience the changes of the mysterious nature.
